John Cooper Works is a sub brand of MINI. It is the title given to the most powerful and sporting versions of a MINI. John Cooper Works or JCW cars feature more powerful engines, a more focused and dynamic chassis set up and a more aggressive aero package.

In 2017 MINI UK in conjunction with EVO magazine decided to see if they could push the JCW brand even further and develop a car that was born on the road but honed for the track. This car would be based upon the 3Dr JCW and referred to as the Challenge. This name is used because the cars take inspiration and reference from the one make MINI Challenge race series.

The MINI JCW is already a quick car thanks to its 2.0L 4-Cylinder Turbo petrol engine that puts out 227 BHP. The Challenge car uses this engine unmodified. The improves made to the Challenge centre around the upgrades carried out to the chassis.

Traditionally whenever a car manufacture upgrades a model they usually use inhouse solutions. Very rarely do the use third parties to enhance the performance possibilities. With the Challenge, MINI UK engaged with a number of well know and highly regarded companies to help improve an already formidable package. The companies that MINI UK chose to work with reads like a who's who of performance car modifying world. Quaife, Team Dynamics, Nitron, Mintex and Michelin were all called upon to help create the MINI JCW Challenge.

Lots of car manufactures offer rare cars built in low numbers. These cars are often purchased by car collectors and never see the light of day let alone a race track. When the MINI JCW Challenge was conceived they initially said there would be 100 cars built however this number was reduced to just 53 cars. This makes the MINI JCW Challenge one of the rarest MINI's and cars available.

The car is number 24 and is completely unmolested or modified. It is presented in excellent condition and features all of the original parts fitted when the car was built.

If you enjoy fast road driving and if you are brave enough the odd track day this MINI JCW Challenge would be perfect for you. Although its honed for the track this doesn't mean its missing the essentials for everyday use. This car features LED Headlights, Air-Con, Bluetooth Phone prep and Rear Parking Sensors.
