The Ford Fiesta has been in production since 1976 and has always been one of Fords most popular cars. It has consistently been at the top of the new cars sales chart in the UK and is a very common site on our roads.

Over the last 46 years there have been many versions of the Fiesta with each culminating in a powerful sporty range topping model. These have been the XR2, RS1800, RS Turbo and ST models.

The Fiesta is a Mark 8 and is topped by the ST model that is powered by a 1.5L 3-Cylinder Turbo Petrol engine that develops 200 BHP. The Fiesta ST is available in three different variants. This was a Fiesta ST3 turned up to 11. It featured all of the ST 3 options such as Heated Front Seats, Heated Steering Wheel, Reversing Assist Camera, Sat-Nav and Apple Car Play but to name just a few of the features. What is gained over the standard ST was upgrades to the chassis. It now featured a Quaife Limited Slip Differential, lowered & adjustable Coil Over suspension which has been developed at the Nurburging and lightweight 18" Alloy Wheels shod in Michelin Pilot Sport 4 Tyres. The interior is trimmed out in Alcantara/Leather and you are held firmly by the Recaro front seats.

The Ford Fiesta has always had good representation in the Hot Hatch sector and this ST Performance Edition version does not disappoint. Its main rival would be the likes of the MINI JCW hatchback or Polo GTI. Both would come in at a higher price when new and neither would feel as sporty as the Fiesta. Autocar and Evo magazine both gave the Fiesta ST Performance Edition 4.5 starts out of 5 and they both praised it for its lively performance and fine handling.
