The BMW X5 was first introduced back 1999. Some people say that the BMW X5 created the Sports Utility Vehicle segment aka SUV. When BMW designed the X5 it was within the era the BMW owned Land Rover. Land Rovers back catalogue of off-road tech was raided to make the X5 and many parts of the BMW are shared with the Range Rover (L322) of the same period.

What is an SUV? According to Wikipedia it is a car classification that combines elements of road-going passenger cars with features from off-road vehicles, such as raised ground clearance and four-wheel drive. The term SUV has been applied to the Nissan Qashqai and Bentley Bentayga and everything in-between. In recent years of all the car segments available from all car manufactures it is the SUV sector that has seen the most growth. One thing about the SUV sector that is worth remembering and that is there is a difference between an 'off-road' vehicle and an 'all-terrain' vehicle. Most SUVs are all-terrain vehicles. The BMW X5 has always given the driver the feel of a sports focused German saloon car on stilts. Unlike other high-sided vehicles the X5 displays hardly any roll when pushed through a corner. Once you've driven an X5 its easy to see why BMW is known as the builder of 'The Ultimate Driving Machines'.

This is a third generation model X5 known as an F15. The majority of its tech is shared with the BMW 5 & 7 Series. Like the model before it this X5 is available with 7-Seats. When not in use the third row can be laid flat in the boot area so not impacting on the boot space. The middle row can be folded or tilted forward to aid access in to the rear of the vehicle and to give an equal amount of leg room for all of the rear passengers. Once adjusted the X5 will accommodate 7 adults.

This X5 is a 30d model which means its is powered by a 3.0L 6-Cylinder Turbo Diesel engine that develops 258 BHP. This offers great pace and acceptable MPG. Its also worth noting the currently 12 months IoM road tax is £305 which is very fair considering this vehicles weighs approximately 2 tons.

The F15 X5 is offered in two trim levels either SE or like this car M-Sport. M-Sport gives you body styling and chassis set up inspired by BMW M. You get fully colour coded body work and a pretty set of 20" M Double Spoke Alloy Wheels. You also get self levelling air-suspension so even though you have a large set of wheels the ride quality is also still very good.

As with any German car the standard specification is generous as is the ability to add some factory options. In this car they included a 360 Camera System, a Harman Kardon Stereo and Head-Up Display. This feature projects information relating to the car such as the vehicle speed, Sat-Nav and radio directly on to the Windscreen.

This car was supplied new on island to its one former keep and it has covered a very low mileage of just 22,035 miles. It is presented in excellent condition through out and with a full service history.
