SkillanNaylor Car Company are pleased to offer this 2015 BMW X4 xDrive30d M-Sport seen in Glacier Silver Metallic with Black Dakota Leather upholstery.
Some people credit BMW with starting the premium Sports Utility Vehicle aka SUV revolution in 1999 when they launched the X5. This was a car that had genuine all-terrain ability mixed with excellent on-road dynamics.
The other big German car manufactures soon followed with their own SUV's. Mercedes had the ML, Audi had the Q7 and Porsche had the Cayenne. All could be driven on a mix of terrains but not at the compromise of their on-road driving characteristics.
From the X5 BMW developed a whole series of other X models these being the X1, X2, X3, X4, X5, X6 and X7. When developing the X family BMW split the cars in to two versions. The odd numbers i.e. 1, 3, 5 & 7 were Sports Utility Vehicles SUV's. The even numbers 2, 4 & 6 were a new style of vehicle referred to as a Sports Activity Coupe SAC.
The SAC is a vehicle based upon an SUV but with more focus on the on-road type of driving. They feature a more sports focused chassis set up and a more curvaceous body style. The shun practicalities like a larger boot and the option of 7 seats for a more sweeping roof profile.
The BMW X4 shares its underpinnings, engines and interior with the BMW X3. Its main rivals would be the Mercedes GLC Coupe, Audi Q5 Sportback and Porsche Macan. As with other SAC's the rood tapers towards the rear of the vehicle giving the car a coupe like shape. It still has seating for 5 adults and a large boot and none of its all-terrain ability is lost. It just looks more aerodynamic and sportier. SACs are aimed at people that want the feel of a sports car like a BMW or Mercedes Coupe but also the height and ability of an SUV.
This BMW X4 is an xDrive30d M-Sport. This means it is like all X4's equipped with BMW's xDrive 4-Wheel Drive system. It is powered by a 3.0L 6-Cylinder Turbo Diesel engine that develops 258 BHP. Being an M-Sport model means that the body styling and chassis set-up are influenced by BMW's M division.
Whenever you look at any German manufactured car the 'spec' or specification is equally as important as how the car looks or drives. Thankfully on this car the specification is extensive and includes factory options like VDC - Variable Damper Controlled suspension. This means you can switch between different chassis set ups depending on how you are driving the car. This car also has Head-Up display which is positioned on top of the dash and projects directly on to the windscreen information about the car i.e. the speed, the sat-nav and your phone system.
This car is presented in excellent condition and with a full-service history to back up its 39,461 miles. It looks great in classic BMW Glacier Silver Metallic with contrasts well against its Dakota Black Leather and Gloss Black 19" M Double Spoke Alloy Wheels.
