Ever since BMW reintroduced the MINI brand back in 2000 it has remained a great success. The launch car and the one that is still regarded as the core model is the 3Dr hatchback. It is a great modern interpretation of what the original Alec Issigonis design was all about. Compact design, lots of personality and great to drive. If there is one problem with the 3Dr hatchback MINI it would be its size or lack of it. Two people in the front is fine. Two additional people in the back can be a squeeze. Add in their luggage and the 3Dr hatchback doesn't work.

MINI realised this and to stop people from leaving the brand once they out grew the 3Dr they introduced bigger MINI's. The first big MINI was the Clubman which was launched in 2007. When you see a Clubman you see it owes more of its design style to the original MINI Traveller as it looks more like an Estate version of the MINI. It was bigger and had a quirky additional door on the drivers side of the car which opened in a reverse suicide fashion. MINI called this the 'Club Door'. It did aid access in to the back but was on the wrong side of the car if you drove on the the left hand side of the road.

In 2010 MINI introduced this car the MINI Countryman. Rather than being based upon the underpinnings of the 3Dr hatchback the Countryman had its own larger platform. This is when the MINI really went big.

The Countryman not only had 5-Doors but also a large boot and an elevated driving position. This means that it is classed as 'Crossover' which relates to the fact it straddles the line between 5Dr Hatchback and SUV. With the Countryman MINI now had a car which families could classes as their primary car rather than a fun or second car.

To match its rugged, jacked-up stance the Countryman also brought another first to the MINI family. This being 4-Wheel Drive or as MINI call it ALL4. Now you could take your MINI on an adventure on any road or terrain.

The Countryman followed the other MINI's and allowed the owner to personalise their car. This included multiple roof and mirror colours, different wheel designs and colours and lots of factory options. It said that no two MINI's are the same. This Countryman benefits from a gloss black contrasting roof and Mirror Covers, full Carbon Black Leather upholstery and a CHILI pack. A CHILI Pack is a group of populations offered in a pack. This options include Sports Front Seats, Digital Climate Control A/C and Bluetooth Phone prep to name but a few.
